Free hostel facility for underprivileged girls
Prayagraj: A new hostel for underprivileged girls of trans-Yamuna areas of the district, especially those belonging to the tribal community (Scheduled Tribe) and Scheduled Caste have been established here in Sangam city. Named, ‘Savitri Bai hostel for girls’ the facility has been established by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Seva Bharti Prayagraj Vibhag.
Located at the building in Lok Nath area (Chowk) of the city, the facility is for meritorious girls who cannot afford to study after class five in the remote rural areas of the district.
“We have seen that there are many girls, who are brilliant in studies but because of the limited income sources of the family, they cannot continue with their studies. Such girls would be adopted by the organisation and will be provided with all the facilities, food, lodging, school, books, clothes etc. all free of cost”, said medico at SRN and vibhag mantri of the organisation, Dr Santosh Singh.
Starting from five girls for this academic session, the hostel will expand its wings for more girls in the coming years, he added.
Singh further informed that the inauguration of the hostel was performed by the Kshetra Seva Pramukh Yudhvir, on Sunday. “When given the opportunity to make a name for themselves and the nation, they can do wonders”, Yudhvir said.
