KAMPALA.

Uganda rugby is up for something big after qualifying for next year`s Rugby Sevens World Cup due July in San Francisco, USA.

With two World Cup slots up for grabs, Uganda needed to make the final of the Africa Rugby Sevens Championship going on in Kampala at Legends Rugby Club as both finalists would secure a flight to play in the iconic AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco giants.

A 38-12 win over Zambia in the Semifinal sent the home crowd wild with prospects of playing at the grandest Sevens tourney against the best players and sides in the world. The result also books Uganda a trip to Australia for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

A Lawrence Sebuliba hat trick and a try a piece from Adrian Kasito, Phillip Wokorach and Kevin Keremundu dispatched Zambia with ease as Uganda booked a place in the final where they will play two time champions Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe will join Uganda at the World Cup next year.
