GREER, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Avelo Airlines announced two new nonstop flight routes starting Thursday between the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, and New York’s Frederick Douglas Rochester International Airport. The nonstop routes are exclusive for Avelo Airlines customers.

“Avelo is the first and only airline offering nonstop service between these two destinations and The Upstate of South Carolina,” Avelo Airlines said.

Avelo airplanes will fly these routes twice weekly. For flights between May 30 and June 28, introductory one-way fares begin as low as $77 for travel to and from GSP and ROC if booked before May 17. Fares stay at $85 for flights between GSP and MHT.

Avelo Airlines will also fly three nonstop routes from GSP to Manchester, N.H., Boston, Mass.; Rochester, N.Y.; and New Haven, C.T.

“GSP – we’re back with new routes!” said Andrew Levy, Founder and CEO for Avelo Airlines. “We’re excited to introduce nonstop service to the Manchester-Boston region and Rochester, N.Y. Whether visiting friends and family or enjoying a leisurely vacation, Avelo offers low fares, travel-friendly convenience and industry-leading reliability. These two exclusive nonstop routes will also make exploring Greenville / Spartanburg’s southern hospitality, scenic views and attractions a fast and seamless journey for Northeast visitors.”

Avelo is a fairly new airline. Its motto is “Inspire Travel.” It began flying its planes on April 28, 2021, and according to their reports, has flown “more than 4.5 million customers on over 36,000 flights.” On top of 52 destinations across 23 U.S. states, Avelo also serves customers in Puerto Rico.

“We are thrilled to see Avelo’s continued investment in GSP,” said GSP President and CEO David Edwards. “Our passengers consistently ask for more convenient access from Greenville-Spartanburg to destinations like Manchester and Rochester. We are confident that these new routes will spur exciting tourism and business opportunities for Upstate South Carolina, Upstate New York and the Manchester-Boston area. We look forward to growing with Avelo.”

Avelo Airlines controls a fleet of 16 Boeing Next Generation 747 aircraft. It has six bases spread across the following airports: Los Angels’ Hollywood Burbank Airport, South Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport, Orlando International Airport, the Wilmington Airport, Raleigh Durham International Airport, and the Bay Area’s Sonoma County Airport.
