CSR News: Free health check-ups to over 80,000 delivery associates and delivery partners by end of 2025

Mumbai, India: Amazon India today announced plans to provide free health check-ups to over 80,000 delivery associates through a series of medical camps across the country by the end of 2025. The initiative, already underway with four camps organized across Tamil Nadu and Delhi NCR regions, highlights Amazon’s commitment to the health and safety of delivery associates and delivery partners.

The medical camps are conducted by Marsh and Care Insurance and provide essential health services including eye examinations, dental check-ups, BMI assessments, and general physician consultations. Delivery associates and delivery partners can access these services by presenting a government-issued identity proof at any of the camps set up at Amazon’s last-mile delivery stations.

Dr. Karuna Shankar Pande, VP Amazon Logistics, Amazon India said, “We’re proud to launch these comprehensive medical camps across India to support delivery associates’ and delivery partners’ wellbeing. This initiative strengthens Amazon’s and their delivery service partner’s robust benefits package, which already includes Group Mediclaim and Group Personal Accident insurance. By bringing preventive healthcare directly to our delivery stations, we’re making essential medical services accessible to 80,000 delivery associates and delivery partners who form the backbone of last-mile operations.”

The next phase of camps is already underway focussed on North India including Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

During consultations, medical professionals review health parameters and provide associates with personalized advice on wellness management. With North India regularly experiencing high summer temperatures, doctors at the camps provides recommendations to delivery associates and delivery partners on staying hydrated, recognizing early signs of heat exhaustion.

In cases where further medical attention is needed, doctors provide prescriptions with recommended follow-up actions, helping delivery associates and delivery partners to seek additional consultation at healthcare facilities of their choice. The medical camp initiative complements Amazon and delivery services partner’s benefits program, which includes Group Mediclaim and Group Personal Accident insurance policies for delivery associates and delivery partners across “I Have Space” (IHS), Flex and DSP programs.

Recently, Amazon had announced plans to expand its network of Ashray centers to 100 across India by 2025. Ashray centres are dedicated rest stops that offer air-conditioned seating, clean drinking water, electrolytes, mobile charging points, washrooms, first-aid kits, and refreshment facilities to delivery associates across ecommerce and logistics ecosystem. This effort is an industry-first initiative designed to offer dedicated rest centres to delivery associates and logistics partners in high foot-fall areas. Located at petrol pumps and commercial rental spaces, these centers are equipped with essential amenities. Ashray centres operate from 9 AM to 9 PM, 7 days a week all year round, offering free access to all visiting delivery associates for up to 30 minutes per visit. With a capacity to accommodate up to 15 people at any time, the centres offer convenient parking spaces as well.
