COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) arrested a woman Thursday on multiple charges after a traffic stop.

Deputies said on Wednesday that they observed driver Brittany Williams on Decker Blvd driving recklessly.

After conducting a traffic stop, deputies could smell alcohol emitting from Williams and also noted she had two children in her vehicle during the stop. After deputies performed field sobriety tests at the scene, they said Williams continued to show signs of impairment.

When deputies told Williams she was being placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, she was handcuffed and began kicking and spitting on the deputies.

Before Ms. Williams’ car was towed, deputies said they discovered two bottles of liquor with their seals broken in her passenger seat.

Williams was arrested for DUI 1st Offense, Assault while Resisting Arrest, Throwing Bodily Fluids on an LEO, and Child Endangerment, and was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
