Lionsgate has released the final trailer for Ballerina, the highly anticipated action thriller set in the John Wick universe.

The film, which stars Ana de Armas in the lead role, is slated to premiere on June 6, 2025.

Prague plays a central role in the production. Filming took place during the fall and winter of 2022, with scenes shot in some of the city’s most recognisable locations, including Naplavka and the area around the National Theatre. The city’s atmospheric streets and architecture once again serve as the perfect backdrop for high-stakes action.

De Armas portrays Rooney, a trained ballerina and assassin affiliated with the Ruska Roma syndicate. Her mission? Hunt down those responsible for her family’s murder. The character’s name, hinted in earlier teasers, appears to be Kikimora—a nod to Slavic folklore.

Joining her on screen is Keanu Reeves, who reprises his iconic role as John Wick, the elusive Belarusian-born assassin known as Baba Yaga.

Norman Reedus, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, and the late Lance Reddick round out the film’s strong ensemble cast.

The story is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, with Ballerina expanding the universe established in the main saga. The screenplay was overseen by Chad Stahelski, director of all four John Wick films, who also served as producer on the project.

Fans may remember that Keanu Reeves was spotted in Prague during the early days of filming in November 2022. Although he left the city shortly after, his brief visit generated excitement among locals and fans alike.

One of the film’s official posters features Charles Bridge and the distinctive round door of a café on Naplavka, blending the city’s iconic elements with the gritty aesthetics of the John Wick franchise.

This isn’t Ana de Armas’s first time filming in the Czech capital. In 2021, she was in Prague to shoot scenes for Netflix’s blockbuster The Gray Man. Although the film received mixed reviews, it performed well enough to greenlight a sequel.
