Easton, MD Police Arrest Trio in Armed Robbery Case


Easton Police arrested 31-year-old Deondre Williams of Cambridge, 21-year-old Makhyla Jenkins of Easton, MD, and 20-year-old Jeremiah Carter of Cambridge in connection with an armed robbery that happened on June 2nd at BayVanguard Bank. All face multiple felony charges, including armed robbery, assault, and firearm offenses. The arrests followed a joint investigation involving the FBI and U.S. Marshals.

Detectives of the Easton Police Department arrested the following individuals:

1. Deondre Tammarce Williams (31) of Cambridge, MD- Assault 1st and 2nd Degree, Armed Robbery and Robbery, Firearm Use in a Violent Crime, Handgun on Person, Reckless Endangerment, Theft: $1500- Under $25,000, Handgun in Vehicle and conspiracy.

2. Makhyla Ondrea Jenkins (21) of Easton, MD- Assault 1st and 2nd Degree, Armed Robbery and Robbery, Firearm Use in a Violent Crime, Handgun on Person, Reckless Endangerment, Theft: $1500- Under $25,000, Handgun in Vehicle, Removal of Vehicle Plates with intent to Conceal, Neglect of a Minor and conspiracy.

3. Jeremiah Isaiah Carter (20) of Cambridge MD- Assault 1st and 2nd Degree, Armed Robbery and Robbery, Firearm Use in a Violent Crime, Handgun on Person, Reckless Endangerment, Theft: $1500- Under $25,000, Neglect of a Minor and conspiracy.

On June 18, 2025 with the assistance of the US Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, Makhyla Jenkins was taken into custody in Easton. Later that day, the US Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and apprehended Deondre Williams in Cambridge, MD, assisted by the Cambridge Police Department. On June 16, 2025, Officers of the Easton Police Department apprehended Jeremiah Carter after a foot pursuit, in Easton. All individuals were turned over to the Talbot County Detention Center.

On June 2, 2025 at approximately 2:35 pm, Officers of the Easton Police Department were dispatched to BayVanguard Bank, located at 501 Idlewild Avenue, Easton, MD in reference to a bank robbery.

Upon Officers arrival, they met with employees who informed them that a suspect later identified as Deondre Williams approached a teller and demanded money. Williams provided the bank teller with a note demanding money and brandished a firearm. Williams was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot. Williams was last seen running on Idlewild Avenue towards Idlewild Park. No employees were injured.
Officers requested the assistance of the Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit to assist with processing the crime scene. A Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Deputy and his K-9 conducted a possible track, Williams might have taken. A Special Agent with the FBI also responded to the bank to assist with the investigation.

Through a joint investigation with the FBI, investigators were able to obtain surveillance footage that showed Williams go into a car that was parked at Idlewild Avenue. Through tips and investigation, investigators were able to learn that Jenkins drove Williams and Carter to Idlewild Park. Once parked, Williams left the vehicle and a few minutes later, returned to the vehicle with money in hand. Jenkins then dropped off Williams and Carter in the area of Kelley Gibson Street.

On June 6, 2025 at approximately 2240 hours, investigators were able to obtain a search and seizure warrant for the residence of 39 Kelley Gibson Street, due to Carter and Williams having a link to that residence. The Easton PD/Talbot County Sheriff’s Office joint Crisis Response Unit assisted by the Maryland State Police S.T.A.T.E team and the Maryland Natural Resources Police Tactical Response Team, executed the search and seizure warrant.

After execution of the search and seizure warrant, investigators were able to
obtain further evidence of their involvement in the bank robbery. Investigators were able to obtain arrest warrants for Williams, Carter and Jenkins and solicited the
assistance of the US Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. The Easton Police Department would like to thank the FBI, MSP, NRP, US Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and Cambridge PD for their assistance in this investigation.
