American, Filipina wife killed in ‘robbery-slay’ in Ormoc
TACLOBAN CITY – An elderly American and his Filipina wife were found dead with multiple stab wounds inside their home in Sitio Talong, Barangay Liloan, Ormoc City, Leyte, in what authorities suspected to be a robbery-homicide case.
The report from the Police Regional Office in Eastern Visayas (PRO-8) based in Palo town, Leyte, identified the victims only by their aliases “Jack,” 81, a US citizen, and “Jean,” 65, a Filipino.
Their lifeless bodies were discovered around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18 when Jean’s sister went to their house to visit the couple, the police report said.
She then asked the help of a local vendor who then reported the incident to the Ormoc City Police Station 3 at around 9:40 a.m.
Responding police officers found both victims with multiple stab wounds. The interior of the house was in disarray while their personal belongings had been scattered, which led the police to suspect that the crime might be handiwork of some still unidentified robbers.
