The Commonwealth Games Sevens line-up has been confirmed on Thursday night, with the tournament four months away.

The Olympic Games gold medal winners Fiji will be part of a 16-team competition, with most of the international heavyweights like New Zealand, South Africa, England, Australia are also Commonwealth nations.

Outside of the usual World Series teams will be some new faces including Jamaica, Malaysia, Zambia and Sri Lanka.

There are just eight teams in the women’s competition, but all of the top nations will be among the 2018 Commonwealth Games contingent. New Zealand and Canada will be among the sides competing for gold, while Wales and Kenya will be non-World Series sides.

The pools and schedule will be confirmed early 2018.
Men: Australia, South Africa, England, Fiji, New Zealand, Canada, Wales, Kenya, Samoa, Scotland, PNG, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Malaysia, Zambia.

 

Women: Australia, South Africa, England, Fiji, New Zealand, Canada, Wales, Kenya.
